Abstract

As our hard-working NHS fight the ongoing global pandemic, they are left with facial bruising and breakouts as a result of wearing personal protective equipment. Aesthetician Dija Ayodele has developed The Nightingale Treatment, a complimentary facial treatment available for all NHS frontline staff once lockdown measures are relaxed, and urges other clinics to get involved

Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) is an absolute must for NHS staff in the global fight against COVID-19, but this has left many frontline workers suffering from bruising and breakouts, especially on the face. To help skin recover, aesthetician Dija Ayodele has developed the Nightingale Treatment Initiative and pledged to treat 30 local frontline staff to a soothing and restorative complimentary facial treatment at her London-based clinic, West Room Aesthetics, when social distancing guidelines are relaxed.

Ayodele was also inspired to extend the initiative to all NHS frontline staff and is encouraging clinics around the country to also make a pledge. Clinics can decide on the number of treatments to gift, as well as the timings and dates on which they can be redeemed. All clinics that want to participate will have their details displayed on the the Nightingale Treatment website for NHS staff to contact them directly to book a treatment. Clinics will also be provided with a digital poster to send to their local hospital HR department. They have bravely treated our loved ones and this is a fantastic way for aesthetic professionals to come together and say thank you to our hard-working NHS.
